B Meet Policy
B meets occur on Monday nights, and are not scored. Like A meets, a swimmer may swim 2 individual events out of free, back, breast and fly. Instead of relays, your child has the option to swim a 100 IM (individual medley) in addition to the 2 prior events (and all swimmers with 4 legal strokes will be expected to swim the 100 IM at least once). A 100 IM consists of swimming one length of each stroke (fly, back, breast and free). There are no limitations to the number of swimmers that can sign up for an event. Our coaches may recommend a swimmer swim a certain event, but no one will be forced to swim an event that he or she does not want to swim. The only restriction is that a swimmer can’t swim an event if they placed first or second in that same event at the most recent A meet. Attending B meets and trying different events are important as it gives your child an opportunity to improve his or her times, and possibly break into the A meet in a new event.
